Yay, my new EP “Intercosm” is now available to purchase on iTunes and several other digital retailers! Click the icons below to visit the new listings on iTunes, Amazon.com, Rhapsody Online, eMusic, and Napster. Physical presses are being made... right now, actually, and physical copies will be available through CDBaby next month!
Also, to promote awareness about the new EP, I have a new YouTube video of a recent performance of the first track on the EP, “Work in Progress.” I spent over a year writing it (which is a long time for me) and I consider it to be my best work compositionally. There’s a story behind it that I put on YouTube. Enjoy!
In other news, I just got back from the 2008 Mark O’Connor San Diego Strings Conference, which was (as always) an absolutely extraordinary experience. Mark O’Connor’s conferences, in case you haven’t heard about them, bring together some of the world’s best alternative styles string musicians (violin, viola and cello) for a week of masterclasses, amazing concerts, and sick jam sessions. I can honestly say that last year’s and this year’s conferences helped make me the player I am today. For example, my song “Intercosm” - the title track off the new EP - was written after last year’s strings conference. There’s one in New York next summer and I’ll definitely be there, and if you’re an alternative styles string player you should check it out too. Click the picture for more information.
Finally, I’ll be moving to New York City in a couple of weeks because I really want to pay too much for coffee. I’m doing a couple more DC area gigs and then it’s off to Manhattan for college! I’ll probably be taking a break from gigs for a while to get settled in the city, but look out for Mahattan gigs in the next few months or so. Exciting times ahead, exciting times.

So I met this chill acoustic singer-songwriter with mad performance skills at a gig a few months back named Ben Ruttenburg, and I’m pleased to say I’ll be backing him up in a trio on March 24th at the Village Tavern in the west village! Check out his music at the link below, and pretend there’s contemporary violin solos in the background. Or just come see us on the 24th.
