| Well, as this is my first post, I will be helping Mitchell here in his quest to make all computer users Mac users... About 3 weeks ago, I purchased a laptop made by Apple. This was done after many months of comparison and deal searching on the web. I found that I would go with the suggestion with Mitchell and also with the knowlegde gained from my research to purchase the very laptop I am usng now :). I have to say, I was blown away by this machine!!! The capabilities, sexy paint job ;P, and overall user-friendliness was great. Before, I was a hardcore Windows user but, after purchasing the PowerBook G4, I think my views have totally been changed. Windows users (just about everyone but me and Mitchell) I sincerely suggest you change your views on computers. Macs are better!!! And in the next part of this article, I hope I can convince you to buy a Mac. The best way to show the comparison would be a Pros and Cons table: Macs Pros: 1. User-friendly desktop that will be much easier to organize than Windows 2. NO SPYWARE/VIRUSES!!! 3. Dashboard: A somewhat "ghost" screen that holds widgets. Widgets are little programs that can give you many sorts of information. These programs can include a clock, calender, dictionary/thesaurus, weather forcast, etc. It s an easy way to get necessary daily information on a single screen. 4. Graphics are ten times better and although you may not think so, gaming and multitasking is excellent Cons: 1. Only one I can think of: Most people dont have one!!!! Windows Pros: 1. Good gaming and less expensive 2. Most people are used to it Cons: 1. SPYWARE AND VIRUSES!!! (From PC Magazine: In 2004, your computer would most likely been attacked by spyare in the first 15 minutes you were online. In 2005, that time had dropped to "15 SECONDS"!!!!! 2. Very bad organization. It can take hours to find a single program you want. 3. Internet Explorer SUCKS!!! 4. Confusing system preferences and too many things you can do to mess-up your computer 5. Does not have Dashboard which is GREAT! 6. Too many applications have to be bought to do many daily activities As you can see, Macs have many more pros and less cons :).
